Saint John of the Cross (San Juan de la Cruz) from the province of Ávila, Spain in th 16th century was a Carmelite friar. He was imprisoned by his Carmelite brothers as they opposed his reformations to the Order, and he was held under a brutal regime. During this time he wrote poems and spiritual writings that have been considered the pinnacle of spiritual Spanish literature. Saint John was declared the first “Doctor of Mystical Theology” within the Roman Catholic Church due to his writings. Patronage: Contemplatives.

This pendant is crafted by me, and is composed of a quality printed image covered with a crystal clear cabochon that protects and magnifies the image beneath.
